IDYL, Roger Hammond award winner and winner of 'The Voice Nigeria', discusses what winning the award has done for him.

Winning the Roger Hammond music award opened doors for me, it had me leave my small comfort zone into a bigger and better place.
After coming to Lagos to do the MUSON course, I heard about the Audition for The Voice and I went for it after speaking to Mr Inemo and my dreams are almost coming through after winning it.
The award has helped me in so many ways away from music and my profession, it opened my eyes to the fact that knowing how to sing is just one out of a thousand, it helped grow my musical background and made every but of it better. I'm a better musician now because of the opportunity that was given by the Roger Hammond Music Award.
The MUSON course was very helpful, at least now I have an idea of my piano and with practice would know more and be more professional on it. It also gave my music a new vibe made my musicianship better.
I'd like to encourage the next award winner to take advantage of this opportunity and know that it all depends on him or her, because you're gonna be all by yourself in the race, so what you make out of it is what you would hold on to for life.
One thing I'd do to make the award better is to be there whenever I'm called upon and also preach the gospel here in Nigeria and everywhere I go.
Well, the future holds a lot for Idyl right now, because my journey is just starting and I have a lot of work to do, I'll be putting out my single soon and also starting a movement against domestic violence through my first single and I would love to use this medium to solicit the support of the Roger Hammond Memorial Trust.
